The Health Economy and Health Sciences Prize Switzerland intends to award persons and institutions analysing and explaining transparently economic issues in the health economy on the basis of a holistic approach, thereby creating the conditions for an efficient use of available means. The Prize wants to stimulate a health economy system in Switzerland where the best possible health service and economical efficiency are not in contradiction, but complement themselves purposefully.
Up to 2014, the Prize for Health Economics was awarded each year. Since 2016, the Prize has been awarded twice a year – and its name will change to Prize for Health Economics and Health Sciences from 2018.
